Vlog: Cartalk BMW 320i E90 update

In this vlog an update on my BMW 320i (MY2007 / E90). It has been standing in the driveway for some time and starts to show some minor issues.

Car used: BMW 320i (E90 / MY2007)

Fuel consumption: BMW 320i (MY2007 / E90)

Model (Code / Model Year): BMW 320i Limousine (2007 / E90)

Engine: four-cylinder petrol engine (1995cm³)  / engine code: N46B20
Transmission: 6-speed manual transmission
Performance: 150hp (110kW) / 200nm
0 to 100km/h: 9,0 sec
Top speed: 220km/h (138mp/h)
Weight: 1.335 kg
Fuel tank (US gallons): 63 liter (16,6 US gallons)

If you follow this link to Spritmonitor, you are able to see the (calculated) consumption of my 320i during the past 7 years and approximately 122.000 kilometers. As you can see there, I averaged 7,29l / 100km during that time, with the lowest fuel consumption of 6,23l / 100km and the highest of 9,02l / 100km.

Current (calculated) consumption:  Spritmonitor.de

In the video I did a test of the consumption at different speeds. Aim of this test is not to give an exact specification of the fuel consumption of this car, but to show an approximation of the fuel consumption under real life circumstances. As the result also depends on tyres, size of the rims, road condition, weather and equipment that may alter the exact weight of the car, your personal experience may differ from mine.

My BMW 320i: Cartalk Volvo V40 & BMW 320i damage + timing chain issues

Two small stone chips on the Volvo V40 (MY2013) and a door slammed into the door of my BMW 320i (MY2007 / E90) and the timing chain on the latter are cause for concern, but constitute of this update!

My BMW 320i: Cartalk BMW 320i TUV

My BMW 320i (MY2007 / E90) has reached 231.000 kilometers, and after owning it for 4 years it was up for the two-yearly technical check (TUV). It succesfully passed the technical check, but let's see how it went in this vlog.

My BMW 320i: Cartalk on the BMW 320i E90

I have had my BMW 320i for 4 years now, and put 105.000 kilometers on it. Naturally I keep my 2007 BMW 320i in the best possible condition, servicing and repairing it when this is required, but I have hit a rough patch when it comes to repairs (valve seals, ABS sensors).

So let's talk about my options. Continue driving the 320i (driving 50.000 kilometers each year on it)? Buy a different used BMW 318d / 320d LCI (F30 / F31)? Or get a company car?

My BMW 320i: The big 200k!

In this video I had my BMW 320i for 3 years and three months, and put 76.520 kilometers on it (hit the big 200k now). Naturally I keep my 2007 BMW 320i in the best possible condition, servicing and repairing it when this is required.

So what do you think? Should I continue driving this car, or should I replace it? Will it last, or cause me a lot of trouble? After the ban on diesels, will old petrol cars be the next ones?

My BMW 320i: Issues

When I made this video I had my BMW 320i for 2 years, and put 50.000 kilometers on it (total of almost 173.000 at that time). Naturally this 2007 car has its issues that need attention, some technical, some cosmetical.

- The paintwork has stone chips and scratches - Small dents - Worn floor mats - Oil consumption - The clutch is worn - And some other things

My BMW 320i: Do It Yourself

With my two left hands I usually don't do that much of maintenance on my cars. However, I started to try doing some simple things and like to share them with you. Don't laugh, I replaced the windscreen whipers and filled up the washing fluid.
