Doing a fuel consumption test in a BMW X6 xDrive40d (MY 2013 / E71). Aim of this test is not to give an exact specification of the fuel consumption of this car, but to show an approximation of the fuel consumption under real life circumstances.

Video update: BMW X6 xDrive40d LCI (2013 / E71)

BMW introduced its first crossover between a SUV and coupe in 2008, designated as the BMW X6 "Sports Activity Coupe" (SAC). Like its brother, the BMW X5 E70 with which it shares the same platform, the X6 is produced in Spartanburg (USA), while the cars for the Russian market are produced by Avtotor in Kaliningrad.

All BMW X6 come standard with the xDrive four-wheel drive system, and since march 2010 is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Apart from several diesel and petrol engines, BMW introduced a hybrid-X6 in april 2010, which features the same 4.4 liter V8 as in the 50i, but mated with two electric engines producing a total output of 485hp and 780nm.

Initially the X6 seated only four people, but since 2011 optionally five (like the X6 in the video). In juli 2012 BMW implemented a small facelift, which included LED-lighting and slightly changed rear lights, and front / rear bumpers. A new addition was the X6 M50d, which is supposed to bye a sporty M-version with a 3.0 liter diesel engine that produced 381hp.
