In March 2012 Audi introduced the third generation A3 at the Geneva Motor Show. The three-door A3 deliveries started in August 2012, while the Sportback has been available on the market since February 2013.
Compared to its predecessor the dimensions remained nearly unchanged, but the new A3 is 80 kilograms lighter. The new A3 is the first car that is built on the MQB-platform, which it shares with the Volkswagen Golf VII, Seat Leon 5F and Skoda Octavia III.
