The co-drivers view: Rotterdam

Rotterdam is a bustling port city located in the western Netherlands. Known for its modern architecture and vibrant cultural scene, Rotterdam is a popular destination for both tourists and business travelers.

One of the highlights of the city is the impressive architecture. Rotterdam was heavily bombed during World War II, and as a result, much of the city center was rebuilt in the post-war period. This led to a diverse array of architectural styles, with many buildings showcasing the latest in modern design. Some notable examples include the Cube Houses, the Markthal, and the Erasmus Bridge.

In addition to its architecture, Rotterdam is also known for its vibrant cultural scene. The city is home to numerous museums, including the Maritime Museum Rotterdam, the Natural History Museum Rotterdam and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. There are also many theaters, concert halls, and other venues for live music and performing arts.

Rotterdam also boasts a bustling nightlife, with a wide variety of bars, clubs, and restaurants to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for a casual pint at a local pub or a fancy dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant, Rotterdam has something to offer.

For visitors who enjoy the outdoors, Rotterdam has many parks and green spaces to explore, including the Kralingse Bos and the Vroesenpark. The city also has several beaches nearby, such as Hoek van Holland and Rockanje.

In this episode of "the co-drivers view" we drive through the Dutch city of Rotterdam, starting on the Wilhelminakade at the Kop van Zuid and then driving onto the Erasmusbrug towards the city centre over the Coolsingel. After making a few turns in the city centre, we leave the city northbound at Hofplein en Schiekade towards the northern part of the ring road, Rijksweg A20.
